1. There's talk today that Russia's vaccine is on the fast track to be approved, and that some European location is being looked upon....to make it there (instead of in Russia). N-TV had a decent report on this and is worth reviewing.
How soon will this this approval come? Unknown. Production to start up? One could imagine this happening with sixty days after approval and maybe this is out in the second quarter of 2021. As for getting Germans to be open to taking Sputnik (the vaccine)? I'd have my doubts that the general public would buy off on this....unless this was mass-delivered and at your local pharmacy, and the gal there would give you the shot.
The slow path currently with vaccinations? I'm 62....looking at the calendar and pace of things....the earliest that any opening would occur....might be mid-June to mid-July. This chatter of the bulk of Germany vaccinated by the end of June? It's hard to view the evidence to support that idea at present.
2. This Brit-Swede company, AstraZeneca? They got back in the news today because scientists say their vaccine really shows down the passing of the virus....once you get vaccinated.
3. 5,000 German Army soldiers are being tasked now (on top of the previous group) to support the vaccination and Covid-care situation in Germany. Some of this effort is centered on retirement homes and having the soldiers vaccinate the older folks.
4. German efforts have reached the stage where the program Excel is being a great deal to build up datasheets and reservation calendars.
