I sat and watched a ARD news piece this AM...they listed out the BSW Party's major points:
1. There has to be an end to Germany's military give-aways to Ukraine, and a 'honest' effort to end the war.
2. End all private health insurance....leaving ONLY public health insurance.
- Roughly one-third of German society is on private healthcare. They aren't that thrilled about this option ending.
3. Halt all rises in rental costs until 2030.
- Unrealistic to say a halt is legally possible.
4. Minimum wage of 15 Euro per hour.
5. Demand a review of 'safe' and 'unsafe' countries....of refugee requests.
- Basically suggesting that a number of unsafe countries would have their status changed and refugees would be forced to go home.
6. Dump the ban (2035) on gas/diesel engine new cars.
- It's hard to poll this and get a good idea of how Germans feel. I would suggest that around 50-percent of Germans aren't thrilled about the E-car path, and this might be a big deal.
7. Suggestion of a bigger/wider view of the Covid decisions made.
- There is a truth-commission already existing at present. This is the idea of making a bigger, and more dynamic effort.
8. Oddly enough....suggesting that a renaming process of BSW will occur in 2025....after the election.
9. Repeal of the heating law (constructed mostly by the Green Party at present).
10. No EU membership for the Ukraine.
On economic changes? There's not much there.
On energy costs? Nothing much.
On crime? Nothing much.
If you were a SPD voter or leaning toward the CDU-CSU....there's nothing much to interest you other than the gas discussion.
