The Odds of a 3,000 Euro Discount on German Cars Coming Up

Between the Trump hardline, BREXIT, and strong possibility of a recession in Germany for 2019....I'm going out on the limb, and making a pretty bold prediction for the fall of 2019.....3,000 Euro ($4,000) discounts will be laid out on most German-made new cars.   In fact, I'll even predict that some of the normal 35,000 to 45,000 Euro cars will see a 5,000 Euro ($6,500) discount attached for a limited amount of time (maybe up to six months).

In the past month, if you follow business journals, and new car sales....there's a trend going on (a slowdown). Dealers aren't desperate yet, but you can sense that everyone is growing frustrated over declines.

The major companies (VW, Opel, Audi, BMW, and Mercedes) would all prefer to have their factories at full production levels, and no month-long shutdowns. Both unions and management would agree that any sales is better than marginal sales.
