Eurowings, for those who've never heard of the airline....is the 'daughter' of Lufthansa. Typically, they fly out of secondary airports in Germany (NOT in Frankfurt). For example, there are routine flights from Bonn, Karlsruhe, Hamburg, and Stuttgart (along with six to eight additional airports) Their success is built upon 'cheap' flights. An example, they fly from Dusseldorf to NY....for 390 Euro (RT). Now, I should caution you.....they will land in a lesser known airport around NY City.
Well, it came up today that Eurowings will open up a hub operation in Frankfurt's airport....for three destinations from Frankfurt (Mauritius, Barbados, and Namibia).
If you were looking for exotic flights from the Frankfurt region, and hoping for great deals, you might want to consider looking at Eurowings options.
