In the past couple of months, there's been this odd developing trend in Germany. There will be this Turkish wedding party (suggesting twenty to thirty cars) that get on the autobahn going into some major urbanized area. There on the autobahn, they will slow down....staging a blocking maneuver (suggesting four cars blocking traffic across the two to three lanes), while the bride and groom get out and pictures are taken of the couple under the approach sign to the urban area.
Yes, traffic is basically stopped for several minutes, and a major stau (traffic stoppage) typically starts up at this point.
Illegal? Yes.
The last couple of occasions, the cops have been alerted and got to the location fairly quick. In addition to the event.....there's been a couple of occasions where shots were fired (typically from a starting pistol), as you would have in Turkey as a festive occasion. That too....is illegal.
All of this adding up to a point where a special law is created? I would bet before the end of 2019, at least two German states write up a proposal with serious jail-time and a hefty fine, if wedding party blockages occur.
