There was a news piece today in Germany which threw up an unusual statistic. When you count households (a family, or a single person)....almost fifty-percent of these households are 'owned'....meaning the family, the guy, or gal....own the house or condo.
In fact, the same statistics folks talk about the other curious factor.....roughly five-percent of the households own a two-or-more family house, meaning that they rent out the second residence to help pay for their own mortgage.
The number of households owning condos? It's fairly near 15-percent.
Around five years ago, German news folks started to talk about the new trend....people moving out of metropolitan areas, and purchasing up houses or condos outside of the 'shadow' of a major city. These were the people saying adios to renting, and simply got smart to go and purchase their home/condo.
