There's a 3-minute story over on ARD (German public TV, Channel One) this afternoon, and it's an interesting story over 2019 and immigration in Germany.
So for all of 2019, there were only (ONLY) 111,000 folks who came and applied for asylum in Germany. It's roughly 14-percent less than 2018.
As for the total number of applications handled and decided upon in 2019? This includes the folks who applied in 2018, and the decision wasn't made until 2019's period? There were 194,000 who had their applications come through and were decided upon.
So here's the shocker out of the 194,000.....54,000 were rejected (almost one out of four....were turned down). One other bit out of the 54,000 number....a large number had already applied....meaning they had arrived somewhere else in Europe, and by the rules, they had to return to country they arrived in, and continue the paperwork there.
As for deportations in 2019, almost 6,000 were sent out of the country.
The big numbers for 2014, and 2015? Finished. The various rules, procedures, and enforcement have basically flipped the whole picture around now. The message to those who arrive in some European country and try to 'pretend' they just arrived in Germany? It won't work.
The odds that Chancellor Merkel and the CDU/SPD coalition will brag about this? Zero. If they hype the situation....the pro-migration crowd just get angry over the numbers. On the other side of this....if they did hype it....they'd take voters back away from the AfD Party.
