Five German News Stories

 1.  Odd story out of Hamburg.....six folks killed in a Jehovah's Witness Church. Some kind of event was underway (not described), and shooting started up.  Eight others were wounded.

Based on the way that is reported....cops don't think the person walked away....that he was among the six dead.

All of this started around 9 PM, and the all-clear for the neighborhood was not given until 3 AM (a six-hour police situation).

Trigger for shooting?  Unknown.

2.  This new draft law on banning natural gas and oil heat after 2024?  Well....it came out this morning that the law is 95 pages long.  Yeah, it's a bit harsh on demands, and going to confuse a lot of people.

Cost estimate?  Some agency went and did a up-and-down estimate....saying it's in the 12,500 Euro per person range.

Odds of this passing....as is?  I'd give it less than a 10-percent chance.

3.  News media in Germany has the name of the 'yacht' used for this suggested attack on the Nord Stream I/II.....named 'Andromeda'.  If you follow the news piece...it says the yacht was rented over at Rugen Island, Germany.

This fake passport business?  Well....if you stand and look at the story told, and the yacht rental folks.....you have seven folks who show up....two present passports which are determined to be fake, and off they go on this adventure.

It does occur to me....while they might have spoken Ukrainian to present themselves.....in the Ukraine, 43-percent of the public before the war....were using Russian in their daily life, and were bi-lingual.  So these folks on the yacht....could have been Ukrainian-Russian....not Ukrainian-Ukrainian?  Yes....thus having a pro-Russian view of the situation.

Adding additionally to this amazing story....there are over 300,000 Americans who also speak Ukrainian.  So you could go and suggest that seven Americans showed up on a private/personal mission to blow up the pipeline.

All James Bondish in nature?  Yeah.....it starts to look like a two-star Bond movie.

4.  Rules are being written over the upcoming 49-Euro railway/bus ticket deal.  So....in the mix....you can't take your bike on the train with the 49-Euro ticket.....you'd have to go get a special ticket if you were going to do this.

5.  Court ruling down in the state of Bavaria over Covid fines handed out to businesses and people.  Court says they went overboard, and that some of the folks can come and recollect their money back.  No estimate on the amount involved.
