Drinking and Smoking in Germany over 2020?

The question should be asked.....did the last year of Covid mean more drinking or smoking?

Well....the German Headquarters for Addiction Issues (DHS) came out with a report....to which they say....Germans bought five-percent more tobacco last year than in the previous year.  So the assumption is that they are smoking more.

Alcohol consumption?  They suggest that Germans drink now....for frustrations and not for social situations.

The tobacco business?  Well....they can only compare legally procured tobacco numbers.  I would go and suggest that probably five-percent of the population probably buy mostly untaxed or illegal tobacco....so the numbers might be flawed.
