Sofa-Gate?

There's been a scandal laying out there which I consider page seven material and almost a joke.  But it's drawn a fair amount of judgement.

So, a meeting was arranged in Turkey on 7 April....with Turkey's Erdogan, the EU 'President' (van der Leyen), and the EU head of the Council (Michel).  It's at Erdogan's 'place-of-business' and if you've ever watched video of past meetings.....there's two magnificent chairs (the 5k Euro type each), and then two fine four-person sofas (high-end material and probably 20k Euro each).

I will say this....whoever does 'decoration' for Erdogan....does a fine job.

So there are ONLY two chairs.  Erdogan sits in one.

Somehow....this Michel-character gets into the room about 30 to 60 seconds prior to van der Leyen.

It's kind of reminding me of a southern situation....where you arrive at someone's front porch and the rocking chair has been grabbed by your cousin, and you get stuck with the couch.

Van der Leyen comes into the room, and sees that Michel has taken the fine chair and she (Van der Leyen) is stuck with the couch-sofa.  Naturally, she's peeved.

I would imagine since that image was taken.....more than four-hundred columns or 'notices' have been written (across Europe) of the terrible moment where Van der Leyen sat on the sofa rather than the chair.

It's suggested that she had a stern 'talking-to' with this Michel-character.  He's probably laughing and arranging his office now with just one meeting chair (for himself) and two sofas.

Erdogan?  I don't think he saw much to get aggravated over, and if anything.....folks are asking where they can get a fine sofa like his set-up.  He might even view this as a chance to order up two more sofas, and just have the meeting room consist of four sofas (no chairs).

An obvious sign on how crapped out the EU has become?  More or less.
