Two Covid Stories

I've chatted over the past month of various Germans who want an 'escape' from Covid ban-rules, and have taken off for a vacation to Mallorca.

The Spanish authorities, realizing the threat potential of people developing Covid, while on vacation....have set up a hotel where you get dumped if you develop Covid while on vacation.

Well....it came up in Focus news this morning....the authorities admit that 27 Germans are 'guests' of the hotel presently.  Who pays for this?  Well...oddly enough...the Spanish government.

I went looking at the hotel....it's rated number 45 of the 87 Hotels in Palma de Mallorca.  Rooms would actually run 160 Euro a night....normally.  It's not a bad place to stay....but I doubt if they let you out of the hallway, and you probably get a basic menu of delivered food.

The second story?  Well...the PhD people over at the Leibniz Institute for Primate Research in Göttingen kinda laid out some harsh news.  They suggest that here in this 'third-wave'....it's possible that the Covid virus is developing to the point where the vaccine business is not going to be effective.  They didn't say it'll happen this month or even this year....but they lay out the science involved, and that you might want to be prepared for the next round of developments.

This mask and ban-rule business?  I just don't think it ever goes away.
