Germans and the Ford Mach-E Mustang

First, lets clear the air on the price-tag....46,000 Euro (tax included).

Second, Ford dealers in Germany aren't that happy with the price because they want more of a cut. An example here is that the Audi Etron SUV is running around 84,000 Euro (tax included), and you can figure that the dealers are clearing 10 to 15 percent of that.

Is this a real Mustang?  No.  If you go and browse at the pictures, it's more of a SUV....so they are stealing the name....to hype the vehicle.

Range?  Ford says 450 km....with a full charge.

Horsepower?  In the 258 range.

The extended range Ford Mach-E Mustang?  It's roughly 8,000 Euro on top of the normal price-tag.  What do you get for this extra cash?  600 km of range, which is substantial.  I should note, the HP for this is in the 280 range.

If you use the calculator over at efarhrer.com.....it says that you could stretch the mileage of the normal Mach-E Mustang to 802 km....if you drove the vehicle at 50 kph (max), at 20 degrees C, at a moderate driving style.  The same calculator says that if summer temperatures are near 40 C.....you'd lose around one-quarter of the mileage from the charge on the battery, and normal driving.

Delivery time?  No one is saying much.  Even if you had interest in the Audi Etron, you could be talking about eight to ten months before delivery could be achieved.

So will the Ford Mach-E Mustang sell?  In the 54,000 Euro range, and 600 km per 'tank-fill'.....it might interest some Germans.  The younger Germans expecting some sports car?  Well....it'll disappoint them and they might walk out of the show-room.  After looking at the vehicle pictures....it'd be a decent car for a family vehicle.
