For those who might have been in Germany in the past decades and took part in Gluhwein (in the Christmas markets)....this is one of those sad topics.
Based on the new ban rules....public consumption of Gluhwein is out.
Up until last week...a number of bakeries operated with a pot outside and paper-cups there, with a coin-cup that you put your money into. Now, all of this public consumption is forbidden.
You can buy the stuff...in the bottle, and return home...to heat it and consume it there.

We have this ban on alcohol sales in parts of USA now as well. Along with the curfew. I suspect it only has to do with control.
