Earlier this morning, I essayed a piece on the A-49 autobahn construction, and the protest movement there against it.
Well....this morning....more protest folks came in and were attempting to put up a significant barricade against the police and tree-cutter crew.
The police? Here in freezing temperatures....they went to the next step....bringing in a water cannon truck.
You can imagine this scene....near zero temperatures, a bunch of protest folks attached up into trees, and a water cannon pouring water over the protest folks.
Odds of introducing pneumonia over the next couple of days? I'd give it a 100-percent chance.
But the police came to admit that the clearing business in the identified woods....is down to roughly 100 meters. The timber crews ought to be done by Monday at the latest.
What happens next? Unknown.
