When Whiskey Isn't Enough

 Ok, so this is the death data for Germany, by the national statistics office (Statistisches Bundesamt).  Factual data, nothing rigged.  No reason to lie.  The data goes only to 8 November.  

So you gaze at death numbers over 2018, 2019, 2020, and just labeled 'Corona'.  

The green line (at the bottom) ....is built into the blue line as well (just for reference).  

The freaky red line (affected in 2018 by flu deaths in the spring).  The upward 'ticks' in July/August?  Heat wave events.  Lot of Germans die from heat exhaustion. Don't argue about this....it's simply the facts of life.  Germans work hard, even in 35 C heat, and get stupid....then die from stupidity.  

So you gaze over this for two minutes and you start asking yourself....well, shouldn't all this 'bad' death stuff up higher than 2018, or 2019?  Well....yeah, logically, you'd think that.  

This is where you sip the whiskey, going for a second and third shot.  There ought to be this really big blue line going way above the stupid yellow and red line.  Logic dictates that.  And it just isn't there.

Yep, an utter mystery.  This is where you sip the fourth, fifth and sixth shot.  

You just need to imagine that the blue IS HIGHER....you just don't see it.  Imagine a blue way higher.  Do the seventh and eight shot of whiskey if required.

Once you awaken from the whiskey-induced sleep, then you turn on some Super Tramp tunes (1978) and just try hard to forget about logical stuff.  Its just not worth all that good whiskey to dwell upon the facts.
