Comical Trend Observation

It was a bit amusing to read through the news headlines of Germany this morning and here is this commentary by the Premier-President of Bavaria (Soder).....who is suggesting that the Covid-19 'deniers'...are quietly become the Corona-RAF (Red Army Faction).

Overly dramatic?  Well....there's probably two to three comments from Soder monthly now (he's angling to be the CDU-CSU Chancellor Candidate) and it's always a nationwide comment that draws a lot of attention.

The 'denier' crowd?  What you can typically say is that most (probably three-quarters) come out of eastern Germany.  You can also suggest that a fair number of them have memories of DDR (the old Communist government), their propaganda, their bogus agenda items, and they see similarities to some degree.

You could also make the case that out of every ten steps forward that the government has made on controlling the epidemic and lessen the infection/death rate....there's always been a backwards number of steps that have occurred.

You can also add....financially, lower-income Germans have paid an enormous price for the situation and nothing is guaranteed to recover in 2021.

So onto the key chat item....Corona RAF?  The RAF (of 1970s/1980s fame) were a focused group, who intended to bring revolution to West Germany by any and all means....with the use of violence central to their agenda.  So far, you can't identify anything much that is associated with violence or threats.  You can make the case that serious verbiage and harsh words have been uttered....with hurt feelings all over the place.

I should add....it's given the public news folks something to chat about....besides Trump, the Corona death rate, or BREXIT.

The demonstrations?  Well....it's a German guaranteed 'right'.  They at least word it carefully....as long as you approach the police and register the demonstration....with planning around the location and not attempting to block traffic, you are a legit protest or demonstration.  You can generally protest anything in Germany, from Corona ban rules, to mink-jackets, and onto political conditions in Nepal.

The fear by the political establishment?  There's several state elections this year, and the denier-crowd might have influence.  There's also the national election in September, and there again....the denier-crowd might have influence.

I expect sometime in the next three months for this to escalation, and the Corona denier crowd to be identified in some way as Nazis.  It'll be a comical push on identifying groups, but this is how crazy the 'trend-machine' has become.
