Over the past ten days or so....this whole discussion of the mandated shot (you'd have no choice) has come up and become a political discussion.
Yesterday....the Premier-President of Bavaria (Soder, CSU) had a talk and basically said....everyone in the medical establishment would probably HAVE TO get the vaccination.
To that....a fair segment of the nursing establishment in Bavaria said 'NO'. No one is saying a majority or number to this, but it would appear that at least 20-percent of the nurses in the state have a fundamental issue with the vaccination, and question either the effective nature or potential side-effects.
If the Bavarian state government forces this issue? That's really the major topic. It does not appear that the federal government wants to engage in this discussion and it'll be a state-by-state decision.
What could happen? Well....if this goes to mandated (I suspect it'd be settled upon by late-summer).....these nurses would say 'adios' to Bavaria and leave.....meaning a health-care crisis would erupt by early fall. They'd all easily find new jobs in other state (national shortage of nurses anyway).
The odds of all sixteen states going this way? Unknown.
Will this be the only profession? Well....some political folks have said that all 'essential' workers should be mandated (meaning teachers, firemen, police, etc).
The anti-vaccination crowd? Polling still suggests a minimum of ten-percent, and in some cases....going up to the one-third point of Germany. This is more so in the east.....than the western regions of the country.
Can one make the case that symptoms are showing up, after the vaccinations? Based on news reporting so far....other than fever, or headaches....that's about the only serious points noted (at least in Germany).
You can make the case that the vaccination doesn't really kick in for two to three weeks, so you could get 'real' Covid-19 five days after the vaccination, and it's just your tough luck.
Now, the other question is....just how effective is the vaccine? If you end up with a true case of Covid-19 in six months, with the full range of serious problems.....does that harm the selling point of the vaccinations? Yet to be seen is the only answer possible.
So, this nurse hard-talk? Will it be around for a while? Yes.
