Q-and-A: Germany: 11 Feb 2022

 1.  Did the Bundestag just admit the whole thing on compulsory vaccinations for all Germans fell apart?

Well....they argued and argued, and woke up to realize the votes aren't there. So it's been pushed off for at least six to eight weeks.

One employer's association stood up and said that they'd (companies, shops) would refuse to be the audit trail or compliance trail of this whole thing...if it were passed.

But the 15 March deadline for medical folks....still exists.

2.  Is there some criticism going on about the 'Last Generation' road-blockers in Berlin?

I did notice that the Green Party's Cem Özdemir (the Federal Minister of Agriculture) made a pretty blunt comment toward the group....that they aren't helping him or anyone in the Green Party 'sell' the beliefs of the group.

If you look at the city level....it's hard to find any adult who fully supports their agenda.

3.  Did Chancellor Scholz's meeting in the Baltic region yesterday lay out any agenda?

No.  The governments of Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia were expecting various comments to grasp the landscape of the Nord Stream II project and the Ukraine mess.  It appears that they got little more than a visit from from Scholz.

4.  On paper, do the Covid ban rules exist up until 19 March 2022?

Yes, and there's questions if the 'Act' will be extended out again, or if the measures will end on the morning of 20 March.

Calling 20 March a 'freedom-day'?  Well...some might, but the reality is that something of a ban rule list probably will exist....even if the 'Act' is not extended.

I wouldn't get real excited yet.
