Back around 2010 in Berlin....some folks came up and wanted to have a Hollywood style 'Boulevard of Stars'. Virtually everyone jumped onto this 'wagon' and it became an instant success.
Well....twelve years have passed, and this topic came up on RBB (public TV for Berlin).
Dismantling the German boulevard? It's openly discussed now.
Reason? No one put operational care into the project. If you go to the area and look around.....the sidewalk looks like crap, and cracks are seen everywhere.
No real desire? I would say it this way....maybe forty years ago....various public works projects were done with German 'quality'. That period has come and gone. Since around 2000, virtually everything in the public eye....has issues and requires some type of modification or upgrade....to survive.
The funny thing now, there will be arguments over the money already spent, and the idea of dismantling a bunch of stars will invite public discussion over who exactly 'failed'.
