30 Oct 2024: Five German News Stories

 1.  Chancellor Scholz gave a talk yesterday....discussed the VW situation....says he wants to create a 'pact-for-industry' (intending to help save jobs)....but doesn't really say what's  in the pact.

2.  One piece of the VW spiral....the cost of developing E-cars and their technology....almost  all of the companies engaged in this 'path'....spent near one-billion Euro to get their ideal 'dream' for the E-car.

They would like to get that investment 'back'....but so far...the general public isn't really that thrilled.

3.  Several lawsuits going on...over the new German property tax.  There is some speculation that the same court that ordered the gov't to re-invent the property tax....will have to stand and say the tax invented is unfair.  That would be a shocker.

4.  There was a study done by the University of Dortmund.....German journalists and their political stance.  Oddly.....41-perent of journalists profess their party of choice are the Greens.

5.  Erdogan says he's open to pardon the head guy of the PKK....in Turkey.
