Focus brought this up today....over in Erfurt....at a regional court hearing, they convicted and sentenced a 75-year old German guy to almost 4 years in prison.
What he was doing? Well....he carried out amputations (multiple)...in his living room, without any medical qualifications. I would imagine that he'd done it for free....it might have been lesser charges, but he apparently charged for each amputation.
Who were the people showing up to have this privately done? Well...one example was a person who was on some path to be 'trans', and they wanted the 'male-unit' removed. This was done in some way....I assume with pain-killers.
The whole story left me wondering two things. First, how did this guy advertise his 'services'? It's not the kind of thing you'd put into the paper or advertise via Ebay. Second thing....what exactly was the job-line for this guy since the 1970s? Was he a butcher....ambulance driver...or zoo-worker?
The curious thing at the end of the story with Focus....it was difficult for the prosecutor to get people to come into court and give testimony over the guy's actions. Most folks thought he did what he advertised or claimed.
