Over the past month, this topic of the Delta-variant has surged, and you see this odd prospective of the German government at work. We are at mid-July and virtually every single politician has vacation plans laid out, and nothing is being decided upon or worked out. But in the background.....there's this big discussion going on about the remaining folks who aren't vaccinated.
So the question arises.....do you reward/punish Germans or do you set up a incentive program....to get vaccinated?
Two days ago, I noticed that the Chancellor came out and said the new herd number being discussed is no longer two-thirds of the nation.....she said '80-percent' is the new magic herd-number.
Somewhere in the mix of all this chatter....this new study from the University of Mainz lays out this problem.....there's forty-percent of folks who apparently had Covid-19, but never felt sick, and never were tested.
I think the politicians will quietly spend their vacation thinking over things....then quietly step into the campaign season....then in October.....with Delta in full 'bloom'....start a whole new shut-down and vaccination strategy.
