While it is the primary goal of this new coalition government (CDU-SPD) to get out of the asylum and migration problems....making this a less discussed episode....it apparently isn't working.
I noticed this morning via Focus (the German news magazine) that this Ellwangen episode from the past week, has brought the immigration talk back to center-stage.
There was a survey done....asking Germans how they feel. Eighty-one percent of German say that the state is overwhelmed in respect to handling migration.
The article came from a BILD am Sonntag piece....the public stance on the 'anchorage' centers (points where failed visa applicants would gather and wait for the Germans to deport them)? It's up to 77-percent now.
The pro-asylum crowd? These 'anchorage' centers are magnets for trouble, over-crowding, and violence.
It is interesting how far things have shifted from the summer of 2015, and a large segment of society (probably near sixty-percent) were pro-asylum, and open-entry.
