Over on the west end of Wiesbaden yesterday....on Wellritzstrsse....a new burger 'stand' opened up. This was kinda timed with a street festival and the burger shop decided to sell 1-cent hamburgers (yeah, it's a pretty radical idea), for their grand opening.
The crowd? Well, what the cops say is that this got up to around 4,000 people in the area, and a small number of them were anti-cop in nature (referring to the 'ACAB' phrase).
For those who aren't familiar with the ACAB phrase....it goes to the English translation of 'All Cops are Bastards'.
Eventually, the cops had to bring in massive numbers, and effectively shut down the burger deal, and the street fest.
An anti-cop theme in Wiesbaden? I generally would say no. But this is the westend of town, and some folks would identify it as the 'Turkish-quarter' or 'little Istanbul.
Even Deutsche Welle discussed the hype over the fest.
