A Shooting Story

Last August (2019), I essayed a piece or two over a murder in Berlin.  This week, the story has popped back up and there's now public attention over this.  N-TV (commercial news) has the best overall coverage of the discussion.

What we can say...a Georgian guy was shot in the Tiergarten of Berlin.  It's a public park on the west side of Berlin.  To be kinda honest....there are daily assaults in Berlin (shootings are a bit unusual).

For several months, an investigation has been carried on.  The general perception of the murder?  It was a contract killing and the Federal folks in Berlin suspect that the Russian government itself was behind the murder.

Russia?  It says 'no', and they suggest that if anything occurs now against them....counter-measures will occur.  NO, they don't say what the counter-measures will be.  It's just a hint.

The problem with this entire story?  The dead guy was a 'retired' Chechen rebel.  Its safe to say that he probably killed a few people in his life, during the two wars (1994-1996 and 1999-2009).

Several things are left out of the whole story.  For example, no German has stood up to explain what the retired Chechen rebel was doing in Germany.  Maybe he was in on some drug delivery deal, or brought in to execute some former Chechen rebel residing in Germany.  That's part of this whole discussion and why nothing makes much sense.

Whoever did the shooting....came up to the 40-year old guy, passed him, and turned to shoot him with a pistol (with a silencer).  It was a simple professional type execution.

The shooter?  The suspect was actually caught on the same day of the shooting.  No one argues about this guy.  But there's this problem with him....the Russian passport issued to this guy (born in 1970)....goes to a non-existent person.  It is a real passport....no argument there, but the more you dig into passport, it was generated for someone who should not exist.

The fact that a 'social security' type number didn't exist for the guy until a week before the murder?  That's another odd part of the story.

Both actions would mean that someone within the Russian government created the ID and had a purpose for the guy.

There's a German publication which says that the Germans have tied this shooter to a execution of a businessman (Russian)....from 2013.

Why go after the Chechen guy?  It all begs questions.
