This morning in Germany, if you read across vairous news groups....the EU has come to a decision about 'life' after the UK has left, and the EU budget. They figure the Germans need to pay 42-percent MORE, which equals another 13-billion Euro that the Merkel-led coalition must 'find'.
It's a fair sum of money.
More taxes....in a time of recession? Ha....you can imagine both the CDU and SPD folks in the coalition standing there and laughing over the idea of adding more taxes.
So the little guy on the street will ask the question....what exactly will the EU do with the extra 13-billion Euro?
Part of this EU spending money will go to 'free' money that the EU is shoveling around Europe presently....pumping up things and resolving the period of the recession.
Part of this money will go to refugee projects, environmental projects, and farming programs in Europe.
And yes....probably around 30 to 40 percent of the money will come back to Germany....being spent on museums, fests, historic renovation, education, etc. So it's not a total loss, and maybe five billion of it will be spent on actual German stuff....just not on the prioritized stuff that your local state would declare, or the Merkel-led coalition would agree with.
It's not all bad stuff....it's just that the majority of the extra 13-billion being requested....won't be spent on Germans themselves. Thats the harsh reality of the deal.
