ARD (public TV in Germany) picked up this topic, and it's an interesting discussion.
Back six months ago....a poll organization went and surveyed Germans. Eighty-percent said they wanted the vaccination.
Today? 49-percent want the vaccination.
The science guys have openly discussed the necessary numbers required to ensure the 'herd' idea works. Generally, it ranges from 60 to 70 percent of Germans getting the vaccination.
The general belief? The more we get into the vaccination process, and the safety factor is proven....the more accepted that the vaccination will become.
If you asked how the numbers will be by the end of 2021 in Germany? I would offer the humble thought that 80-to-90 percent will have gotten the vaccination, and that pressure will be upon the non-vaccinated folks that if you want to travel beyond the border of Germany....you will have to get the vaccination to visit the majority of countries.
But I'm going to suggest two other odd paths that will develop.
First, fake vaccination slips (counterfeit-type) will start to exist by summer and the travel industry will confront the government that this makes the task nearly impossible to confirm or deny who had what.
Second, the mask business isn't going away, and by November of 2021....Covid-19 will still be passing through communities and we will return to the idea of shutting down restaurants, bars, and clubs by next winter. The pro-vaccination crowd will be confronted by the anti-vaccination crowd, with massive distrust discussed about the value of the vaccination.
