My Humble View on German Curfews

Curfews, except used for 'kids'.....are mostly all worthless.  I've had this opinion for decades (I'm 62).

I look at the way this German Covid ban-rule came to be designed.  Once you closed bars, pubs, discos, restaurants, etc....other than hanging around at some park bench with your 'bros' or associates....the social life for evening hours ended.  I suspect with just the closures....75-percent of evening 'trafficking' simply ended.  If you were out after dark....you probably bought a six-pack of beer or had a bottle of cheap booze...where you hung out.

The odds that 3,000 people nightly in Frankfurt violate the curfew?  More than likely and on Saturday evening....there's probably 10k people violating the curfew business.

If you quizzed Germans between the ages of 15 and 25....I would imagine that around fifty percent consider curfew a 'joke'.

The pro-curfew crowd...politicians, journalists and virus-experts?  They will pat themselves on the back and handout 'medals' for a great successful curfew program.

Curfews ending shortly?  I would suggest in most German towns....within two weeks, curfews will end.  By the end of May.....I seriously doubt any German city has curfew in place.

The end?  Well....no.  I honestly believe curfew ban-rules will return by late October, as the infection rate climbs above 100 once again.  And I'll even project by spring of 2022.....more 'medals' can be handed again....for a great successful repeat of the curfew program.  Don't even bother asking me about the 'medals' for the spring of 2023, or 2024, or 2025.
