The Office for Statistics and Urban Research came out and asked around Wiesbaden for housing 'futures', and the result? Well....they used the term 'extremely tense'....which meant that it's a dismal future for the next couple of years if you were looking for reasonable priced rental property or to buy a condo or house.
Supply and demand? It's mostly crapped out. There's a couple of apartment buildings in the construction phase, and there's one massive housing district discussed for the next four years (over by Kastel). Beyond that....there's not much to expect.
Finding land available and zoned? Well....most communities are now protected to some degree and they'd rather you 'move on'....meaning to find property 10 to 20 km outside of the city. Drawing the pricing upward? Well....of course.
The problem with this discussion....the public reaches a point where they think the politicians (in particular, the Greens and Linke Party)....ought to step and have corrective measures.
