The Covid Cost Discussion

This topic got brought up by HR (my regional public TV network) last night.  So, to the basic idea.....The President of the Federal Social Court (located in Kassel, in Hessen)....came up and suggested mandating that non-vaxed folks pay their hospital costs....in the event of Covid treatment.

Legal?  There's debate over the legality of it....even if you got the federal/state folks to mandate it.

I sat and pondered over this and eventually came to agree....it's a brilliant idea, but only a quarter of what ought to be done.

In my thinking....if you were drunk and fell down a stairway (breaking your arm)....all costs at the hospital should be your own burden (you shouldn't have been drunk).

In my thinking....if you were having unprotected sex and got HIV,  all costs should be your own burden (you should have used safe measures).

In my thinking....if you were riding a bike/e-scooter without a helmet and crashed....with major head injuries....all hospital costs should be your own burden.

In my thinking....if you were doing some wild drugs and overdosed....requiring medical attention, then all costs should be your own burden.

In my thinking....if you were recklessly riding a motorcycle at high speeds, then all medical costs should be your own burden.

Maybe this guy with the Federal Social Court just wanted to pester the non-vax folks, but I think he's got a great idea....we just need to pester everyone, for hundreds of reasons, and make healthcare costs your own personal burden.  Maybe then, people wouldn't do really stupid crap.
