Why The Russians Aren't Part Of the Government

I sat and read an interesting piece by Tatyana Deryugina, associate professor of finance in Russia, and it's worth a read.

So she lays out three central conditions which disconnect the public from any influence:

1.  Ever since 1917.....there's been this negative trend, where people aren't allowed to live in a normal fashion.  Every level of society in the USSR/Russia.....is attached to some theme that comes out of the Kremlin.  What you get to in life....is more or less a 'gift'.

2.  While it sounds funny, she says: " A non-trivial share of the people are idiots".  There's a central theme to information....leading to one single conclusion.  Open debate never occurs.  If Putin were to utter something ridiculous, then it must be true.

3.  Then she gets around propaganda and that you can' avoid it....it's on advertisements, TV, and via any platform you can imagine.

There's no doubt that this stretches across the whole spectrum.....there's kid-propaganda, intellectual-propaganda, family-propaganda, and probably even church-propaganda.

Russians currently believing the 'theme' of the military operation?  Some interviews from people  on the street in Russia indicate that the message is simply not selling well.  Some TV and radio networks have been turned off.....while the state media is working overtime now.

I would imagine if you brought a hundred working-class Russians into a room....most would tell you that they don't really want any element of the Russian government managing them, their jobs, or their lifestyles.  Most would confess the propaganda is joked about on a regular basis.  A few might sit and laugh over Putin's comments as being 'crazy-talk' that makes no sense.

Anything changing?  Well....when you start seeing Russian people show up in neighboring countries (having permanently exited) and admit that Russia has become non-functional....that might be the end-point for the puppet-state.
