N-TV (German news) had an interesting story.....but I admit the BS-factor is a '5' minimum.
So the story goes that in the past week.....a massive re-supply problem has occurred for the Russian Army inside of the Ukraine.
Key components of the problem? Fuel, food, and ammo running short.
I tend to view the story with some skepticism. On the north side invasion 'shadow'? The Ukrainian Army has hit them almost daily and screwed up supply efforts....there's not much to argue there.
On the southside invasion path? Well....they rely a great deal on ship-to-port situations....with fuel, ammo and food being dragged along the coast.
On the far east invasion path? That's probably the only region with marginal problems.
If any of this were half-true? You'd have demoralized Russian troops....some now out for the four weeks straight, and no true pause to give them some relief. Troops like this....screw up and make serious mistakes. They also find retreat to be a positive thing.
Just to tell some group of 200 soldiers that the resupply convoy that was bringing them fresh food and more ammo.....was hit and destroyed....brings morale down another notch. Bringing in a helicopter or two to deliver? You take risks, and could be forced into a rescue mission to bring chopper pilots out.
Another issue....if you did go and destroy a 20-truck convoy bringing in food and ammo.....with Ukrainian troops able to recover half the food/ammo for themselves....that only makes the mess for the Russians worse.
I'm likely to believe part of this story, but just wonder how bad is the real situation.
