1. BILD went and did a interview with a former Russian Prime Minister (Mikhail Kasyanov). His key quote? "Putin is amazed and shocked by the partnership between the EU and the transatlantic partners."
It may very well be....after twenty years in the job....Putin just assumed that the EU and US were 'weak' and would never challenge him in any way. The economic sanctions? He ought to be spending almost half his work-day now on economic problem-solving.
2. One of the lesser things that Russia exports....is aluminum. Yesterday, Australia said it'd cut completely it's sales of aluminum ore....a key element for aluminum...to Russia. A big deal? About 20-percent of what Russia needed for it's product....came out of Australia. So, there's going to be some problems on down the line.
3. The German Interior Minister spoke to the threat in Germany of human traffickers....preying upon younger Ukrainian women who've entered Germany. Police are being directed to be proactive on this issue.
4. There's talk in Germany that around a quarter-million Ukrainian kids will be in the country shortly, and teacher-wise....Germany will need to temp-hire at least 10k to 15k extra teachers. Add onto this....temp-buildings on school grounds need to be a top priority.
