Saturday Afternoon Thuringian Update

1.  The FDP Premier-President of Thurigia has officially resigned, effective this weekend.

2.  The CDU-CSU-SPD national coalition in Berlin have come out and said that they all support a new election in the state (likely to be April).

3. Linke Party commentary?  They are NOT happy with the election idea.

So onto the idea of a new election and what results will occur.

I would suggest three variations on this election and it's results:

1.  The FDP will lucky to clear 2.5-percent of the vote.....so they will be a non-player in this election.

2.  The hostility brewing among people who typically don't vote or get into things like this?  This might trigger an extra 10-to-20 thousand to show up and vote for the AfD Party.  I kinda expect their take in this election to be a minimum of 25-percent.

3.  The Linke Party might gain some extra votes and come close to 32-to-33 percent.

Problems forming a coalition in this second round?  Yeah....you might as well go and expect no workable relationships.  I might even go and suggest a 3rd election by August or September timeframe.
