Protests

Yesterday (Saturday)....wasn't exactly great weather in the local area (Wiesbaden).  But we had two demonstrations going on in town...at the same time, and just meters apart.

One was anti-Corona-ban-rules.....one was pro-Corona-ban-rules.

Yes, you can laugh about this.

The 'bad' boys (the anti-Corona-ban-rules)?  Police say they numbered around 800.  Some locals say they were at 1,200 at the peak.

The second crowd?  Police that group was around 100 to 150.

It's hard to put a public number on anti-ban-rules.  Public TV has done surveys and polls suggest that around 80-percent of the public has supported the state-level, and federal-level ban-rules.

I suspect....if you broke the public numbers up....especially among Turkish young men....in their case, it'd be 90-percent against the ban-rules.  Among older Germans (say over the age of fifty)....it's probably 98-percent in favor of the ban-rules.  With older German men who were borderline alcoholics before Covid-19 came along, it's probably 99-percent against the ban-rules.

As for cooperative folks at the demonstrations?  Based on watching the video from news folks.....things were rather peaceful, and the police maintained order.  If it'd been great weather?  Well....both groups might have attracted more participants.
