Q-and-A: Germany: 18 Feb 2022

 1.  Draft law being proposed to say that all entering the country have the 'right' to asylum/immigration?

The SPD-Green-FDP govenrnment is working up a draft to give out the right to migrant/immigrants.

Some suggest that it'll create a new problem where people exercise the right, but show no interest in integrating or securing a job.  I would suggest that whatever size 'magnet' Germany current is for migration (fairly large)....that with this law passed, it'd be the only country in Europe where all migrants would aim to arrive and stay.

2.  Transgender insulted in the Bundestag by a AfD member?

This story happened yesterday, where Beatrix von Storch (fairly known AfD member) address a Transgender with the Green Party by the original male name, and said he was still a man (biology-speaking).  Yeah, it created a big ruckus.

So, if you gaze across the media today.....a few Germans are asking if the Bundestag has a legal definition of male/female.  I can't say that I've ever seen a paragraph describing the dividing line between German males/females.

Big mess coming?  Well....I don't see how you avoid this, without some debate, and a couple of PhD scientists in the middle.  You'd think they'd have more important business to cover.

3. German media disturbed by the amount of Russian propaganda?

OH YEAH.  Over in Donbass, Ukraine....there's a suggestion of genocide (of Russian ethnic people) going on.

Russians on the street of Moscow kinda believe the story....even if there are not much on facts. So this is openly discussed by Germans as a problem.

4.  Are Germans worried over their smart-phone listening into conversation, while just laying the table?

N-TV brought this up today, and it's worth a minor discussion.

Lets just say that Apps are there and the possibility exists.  Could there be a hundred, or a thousand or a hundred-thousand being listened in?  Yeah.

I will say this....on privacy concerns....Germans react a lot more intensely and I'd suggest that around 5-percent of adults would freak out a bit if they learned this was possible.

Course, if you offered wives a chance to turn this on and monitor their husbands.....I bet five to ten percent of women would want to monitor their husband.

5.  Hurricane-like weather the past 24 hours in Germany?

Lot of it, and some more to come.  Lot of damage....mostly in the north and central regions.
