Mail Delivery Evolution

It got brought up in German news today (Sat)....that the German post office system is evaluating this idea of delivery once, to three, to five days a week (eliminating Saturday delivery in this last case).

The talk is mostly over digitization going on, and less traffic being delivered to homes.  Packages?  If you check out the system currently....DHL, Hermes, and the various packet commercial companies are probably delivering the bulk of packages already.

The union guys?  They don't like the idea because there's going to be fewer jobs.

Acceptance?  Hard to guess how the German public will go with this.  One might see that three-day delivery per week will end being the accepted method in the end.
