N-TV brought this up today....over the Merkel-Schulz political debate last night.
Roughly 20-percent of the German population (82-million) sat and watched the debate last night (8:15 to 9:45 PM).
The curious thing is that four networks (two private and two public) carried this.
The two public networks (ARD and ZDF) carried around 13 million viewers. The two private networks carried around 3 million viewers.
A weak viewing audience? Yes....the 2005 audience had around four million more extra viewers than this episode..
I think part of the weaker numbers go to the idea that thirty-percent of the public is set to a party beyond the CDU or SPD. Both the AfD and Linke Party are entertaining near 18-to-19 percent of the public vote combined.
