My son (German in nature) came up to me and noted yesterday that there is a travel warning issued.....for Germany.
Apparently, Turkey.....via the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs....sent out a warning for Turks in Germany, and Turks traveling through Germany....to be cautious because of the political season.
The Turk government then noted that you shouldn't engage with Germans on political topics.
Rallies? The Turks advise that you ought to stay away from all rallies because they might be a target for terrorists.
I noted the comment by the son with amusement....asking him if any German-Turk was going to take this serious. No....he responded. You were a hundred times safer on the streets of Wiesbaden than on some Turkish street right now.
It's a tit-for-tat situation. The Germans hyped up a travel warning for Turkey about six weeks ago, and this is just a copy of that.....played back on the Germans.
Personally, if I had any say....I'd probably send out a travel warning on Germany....but advising Americans to keep a 360-degree view of politics in Germany....that about every third line of commentary is bogus or just fired-up rhetoric....and not to get awful hyped-up about bringing German political slants into the US arena.
Then I'd point out that at least one German political party is advocating: abolishment of the police, legalization of all drugs, total Ruckverdummung (total restupidification), redrawing the country map to 1237, creation of centers of 'love, and termination of any compulsory education. The party? The Anarchist Pogo Partei. If you were around these guys....they'd go probably twelve steps beyond any Bernie-concept. Don't go getting any funny ideas.
