It's one of those odd stories that appeared in the German news yesterday (Die Welt started the piece)....where the public is told that a minimum of 300 war-crimes members from Syria...exist in Germany today.
The basic story is that the group came in....within the 2015 era, and maybe even into 2016 and 2017. The story also suggests that these are all secret agent members of Assad's former secret police.
So you stand back and start trying to look at the landscape of this suggestion and what this might all tie into.
Were the 300 sent with a purpose and mission? To monitor the thousands upon thousands of Syrians who left? Were the 300 sponsored and given a list of individuals to monitor? Are the 300 strictly to monitor, or to conduct Syrian-orchestrated events at a later time?
The German cops? What they generally say is that they've got an awful lot on their plate at present with just regular crime, drugs, and terrorism.....so this idea of Assad-secret-agents running around is not on their top ten list. But the other comment to this is interesting....they are going to go out and add roughly twenty members onto the investigative analysis part of this situation, and start looking at rumors and comments within the Syrian community of Germany.
Timeline? Since the twenty analysts don't exist today....you can figure it'll be at least six months before they are all sitting in some room and have the data projected up on the wall, and start to detail out relationships, facts, and start to really identify the ultimate purpose of the suggested 300 secret-agents. By late 2018....my humble guess is that this whole story will take some form, and some people will be a worried about where this might lead onto.
Back before the Wall went down....the West German government had various suspicions over the DDR-secret-agents and the Soviet-secret-agents. There might have been several hundred around Germany in various jobs and collecting data on various things.
In this case, no one really has an idea of what the 300 Syrian-secret-agents might be conducting surveillance upon, and maybe it's purely those who left Syria.
In three or four years, I suspect that half the German nation will then be worried about secret-agents from Russia, Syria, China, the US, and even the Isle of Britain.
