Diesel Car Update

It is an interesting Focus magazine article I pulled up this morning, which has a twist or two with diesel cars....a major topic in Germany these days.

So some smart folks sat down and used anayltical data over diesel cars and their versions.  For lesser informed....there are six categories of diesel cars in the EU today.  Diesel car version 6 is the latest, and considered 'clean'.  Diesel car version 5 comes from around five years ago.

If you drive diesel version 1 to 4....it's considered 'dirty' and branded by the news media and environmentalists as the chief problem with the oxide issue.

Well....the smart folks found that in areas where car version 1 through 5 are located mostly.....the oxide level is not a big deal.

So the older diesel cars are not creating all the bad oxide like people were told?  More or less.

Should there be more research before harsh decisions are made?  If I read through this article.....it would demand a significant amount of research that centers on urban areas, and if some other 'triggers' or causes exist.

These diesel car bans being discussed?  Might they be of zero value?  Yeah, that's the shocker that you might create some fake wave of accomplishment....only to discover two years later that the oxide level has no connection to the cars you banned.
