Lada Story

I sat and looked over a car report from yesterday (from 'The Drive').

Lada, which was a Russian-only plant for decades....came to have about two-thirds of the ownership bought up by the French company Renault....around a dozen years ago.

Lada says that production will stop shortly....due to some parts (figure around 20-percent being made outside of Russia).

Getting some kind of procurement of these parts from China?  Well....it makes you wonder if the Chinese will walk in and offer some kind of deal, but I'd seriously doubt that the parts flow starts anytime in 2022. I'd also question quality of substitute parts.

I expect dozens of Russian companies with outside ownership to confirm a work-stoppage....bringing the economy to a more difficult stop.  If people aren't working.....they aren't generating a income, and there's no system to ensure a food supply continues on pace.

The finance people are likely explaining this to Putin and the Kremlin crowd, and they are a bit amazed just how linked-up they are to Europe, Asia and the US.
