The War: 13 Mar 2022: AM

 1.  Germany has said (late yesterday).....130k refugees now in from the Ukraine.  Special trains running all weekend.....to bring in more from Poland/Czech (anyone's guess but I'd say over 50k make the trip this weekend).  Moldova is helping to move 2,500 to Germany in the next couple of days.

2.  Saarland Premier-President is calling for a 50-cent tax reduction on gas/diesel....for a temp period.

3.  Fitch is saying around 28 Russian companies will fail by the end of the month....zero relief in sight.

4.  Some story going around (zero value)...that 500 to 600 Russian troops just surrendered and gave themselves up.

5.  Germany will be using all of Terminal Five at the BER Airport (Berlin's newest airport) for refugees.  In addition, Tegal Airport was to be used.....some issues in that a trade-fair was supposed to occur there this weekend.

6.  Agreement by Germans says that the Konigstein 'Key' will be used for distribution of refugees (for more permanent basis among the sixteen German states).  The key is a dividing formula (made in the 1950s), which counts up population.  In this formula...NRW, Bavaria, B-W, and Hessen would be at the top of the list to receive refugees.

7.  From 1990 to 1996, Andrei Kozyrev was Russia Foreign Minister.  He made some comments yesterday.

Key statement?  China will never consider Putin as an 'equal'.  What was meant by that?

As the war develops and Russian deals across the globe deteriorate, there's only going to be a couple of trade-partners left for Russia (the 'stan' republics, China, Cuba, etc).

When Russia walks in the door and wants to start up a deal to sell raw materials....China will look at the going price, and then counter to Russia a deal where they pay only eighty to ninety percent of that price.  In simple terms, they will screw Russians left and right.

As the US cuts off Russian oil sales....fine, China will  be there and can offer some deal to buy the oil.  But it's just not going to be the same amount of money.  So GDP/profits will never go back to the way it was before the war.  The oligarch community might survive on, but only if they squeeze the regular middle-class of Russia down a notch or two.

 8.  Late last night, Italians announced that they'd seized another yacht (value of 530-million Euro).
