CureVac's EU 'Loan'?

I discussed this matter at length yesterday....at least from the starting prospective.

This came up via N-TV early this morning.....after all the Trump-chatter with CureVac and the exclusive deal that was put on the table....the EU itself came to the situation.

Instead of a 'grant' or free-money deal.....the EU rigged up a 'loan' which is figured to be around 80-million Euro (100 million dollars).

To be paid back?  Yes, unless someone invents a waiver to this later.  So it's not as good as a 'grant' (free money).

Ending the CureVac mess with PR over Trump's talk?  Chancellor Merkel has said that the matter is now closed.

If CureVac does invent a vaccine?  They will probably make a fair amount of money off of the sales.  The problem is that several companies are around and in this process, and all have a staked amount of investment.  Each would prefer to be the first at the 'gate'.
