Germany and the Coronavirus: 9 March 2020

1.  Total infected as of today: 1,102.  Deaths: Zero.  Although there is the one case of a German who was traveling outside of Germany (Egypt) and he passed away there because of the virus (age 60).  Note, he was from Hamburg.

2.  The DAX (their DOW) fell 8-percent this morning.

3.  Fuel prices.  There is some declining number on prices.  Part of this a realization that flights will be cut drastically, and the selling fuel market was not expecting this situation to occur.

4.  School closures are being actively discussed in almost every state of Germany now.  Some are suggesting that there is no advantage to school closures, unlike the KITA operations.
