Coronavirus and Germany: 7 March 2020

1.  Focus had a short piece on a Turkish bus entering Austria....heading to Germany.  What the journalists report is that the customs police of Austria browsed the bus, and found around 21,000 facial masks.  The scheme by the folks on board?  They were intending to market them and sell them in Germany.  Profit?  Austrians were suggesting 50,000 Euro minimum....on non-certified masks for the virus.

2.  The Robert Koch Institute says the infected number is 684, as of 8 AM this morning.   Still no one dead.

3.  The government says the rules on 'short-work' (meaning where you were working 40 hours a week and there's some urgent need to flex it back to 20-odd hours).....will be changed (made easier).  A number of the airlines are talking major use of short-work.
