N-TV had a short piece today on more mask issues.
This episode is centered in Baden-Wurttemberg. What's said is that the state government had a 'stash' of mask, and they've finally sat and inspected them. Roughly 15-million were state-purchased Covid-masks, and they don't meet standards. Another four to five million were federally-procured and fail the quality inspection.
What'll happen? They suggest that the companies will be held responsible. The chief problem? I would speculate that most all were non-German, and non-European-made.....meaning Chinese manufacture. If the Germans were stupid enough already to pay them....then the company will just fold up and disappear.
Cost factor? Back in March-April 2020.....they were probably paying two to three Euro per mask.
Disposing of the masks? Probably to be done in the middle of the night and dumped into some pit with dirt poured in to hide the episode.
