It's a curious development this morning in my regional state of Hessen. I've discussed over the past couple of days....right-wing extremism accusations against the federal police unit in Frankfurt (police conducted a raid of the police members).
Well...the Hessen Interior Minister (Beuth, CDU Party) announced this morning that the federal police task force in Frankfurt....is now dissolved.
What is curious in the statement....Beuth indicates that from the chief's of the federal task force unit....their bosses (apparently at the national level) knew about their behavior and issues....doing nothing.
Drastic situation? To an American, it'd be like some FBI task force in a state, and the state head of security orders them out of the state because they are not able to conduct themselves in some respectful way.
So the federal police involved aren't fired? That's correct....they more or less need to pack up their belongings in the office, and get re-assigned to another German state, or be fired by the federal apparatus.
Yeah, pretty weird if you ask me.
