1. Did a regional court come up in Germany and say the recent change on recovered status (going from 6 months to 3 months) was illegally handled?
Well....the Osnabruck Administrative Court stood up yesterday and said the federal Health Minister change on the Covid recovered status was not legally effective. It'll be challenged and go to the next level, but I suspect the Constitutional Court will get the case shortly, and by the end of 2022....say either the Bundestag votes this through.....or the 3-month declaration is reverted back to 6 months.
2. Green Party policy on migration changes for 'foreign skilled workers'?
Well, this past week.....Habeck stood up for the Greens and said that certain things have to change because of manpower shortages in Germany. His wording mostly says that recruitment of skilled workers ought to be a major shift.
Note, he's not talking about a open-door for just anyone....he wants the 'door' to open and close....with trained/certified individuals to enter.
If you look at the current regulations....anyone from a EU country can enter Germany and fill this role. So he's not referring to them.....he means the non-EU individuals (like from South Korea, Australia, Mexico, etc).
Will the public support this? It might be more accepting than the situation where it's a marginally educated guy with no special skills, and Germany wastes three years in discovering that the guy doesn't have a burning desire to be successfully integrated.
3. Is there a toilet paper shortage going on in Germany?
Well.....this time around, it's not panic buying like in the spring of 2020. What is being said is that some raw material shortages exist, and energy cost bumped up production costs.
Some of this relating to cargo vessels? The experts suggest this to a minor degree.
TP prices likely to edge up? There was already a bump-up in December, and I would imagine another bump will occur in the next couple of weeks.
Present cost? Better quality TP....4-ply.....8 rolls in a pack....selling at around 2.49 Euro. Five years ago, the same 8-pack would have been around 1.80 to 1.99.
