The War: 12 Mar 2022 (AM)

 1. Instagram got shut-down in Russia.  I should point out....they lasted a day or two more than Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter.

2.  Russian luxury goods coming into Europe?  Finished.  A limit on steel/iron Russian products as well.  Billions at stake.  There's also chatter going on for the remaining products.....that a tariff measure will be created in the near-future for Russian goods.

3.  There is a Russian-made drone that crashed in Zagreb yesterday evening.  No one is sure....if this was Russian-operated or Ukrainian-operated.  Here's the thing....even if this was started from the Ukrainian border....it flew almost 660 kilometers.  If from the southern area where the Russian control things?  That's almost 1,500 kilometers.

My humble guess is that the Russians launched it and some satellite problem (maybe those pesky hackers) messed up the coordinates and it just flew on, and on.

Worrying folks in Zagreb?  Well, it's created a lot of chatter overnight.  On the positive side....no one killed/injured.  Just a couple of cars with damage.  You can imagine the owners of the cars calling the insurance guy this morning, and there's some push-back.....this was not covered in the insurance package.

4.  There are some German political folks working hard this weekend....to create a asylum rule or two....where Russians of various offices could just give up....escape and ask for German asylum.

Intended group?  News people, IT people, etc.  I'm guessing that pilots (civilian and military) might get on the list as well.

Public announcement?  The regulation will probably come out within the next ten days.

A big deal?  Well....by the end of March, I might expect around 100,000 Russians who've left the country....for anyplace considered safer than Russia, and it'll expand out in April and May.
